Our materials / How to care

What is Sari Silk?

Sari silk is 100% recycled silk made from remnants of salvaged sari and bi- product silk materials. Sari silk is hand-spun and dyed in small batches creating rich color variations and textures. We source our yarns from a small cooperative that support and create opportunities for women in India.

Sari silk is hand-dyed allowing each batch of yarn to create a unique gradient color. Essentially each garment we create is a one-off as no two pieces will be exactly alike in coloring and thickness. Our signature "peek-a-boo" fabric has a lace like sheerness that will be unique to your garment.

Is it Itchy?

Fare question! We promise you have never felt yarn that feels this good on your skin!! This yarn has a fuzzy, weighty wool “look” without that itchy feel we all hate. Sari silk is airy, supple, and buttery soft.

Care instructions

Hand wash cold or Dry clean only. Because of the delicate nature of knitwear, knits are prone to snags and pulls. Take care when wearing jewelry, snagging on sharp objects, or your furry friends jumping up on you!

Why are loose ends poking out of my knit?

In knitting lingo we call these tails! When you come to the end of a ball of yarn and attach new yarn you are left with tails that are weaved into the garment to conceal them. Tails weaved in tend to come loose with wear, but don't worry your piece is not unraveling, simply tuck your tail back in to the reversed side and continue enjoying your knit.
